Buddha on a Bicycle came about after many years of working in the Mind Body Spirit business in the Covent Garden area.

For over 10 years Gilly managed the successful New World shop that was based in Neal’s Yard. During this time Gilly, Gabrielle and the staff, many of whom now form the team at Buddha on a Bicycle, noticed how people seemed to crave a personal connection with other like minded people within the Covent Garden area so, when four years ago the owners, New World Music, decided they no longer wanted to continue running a shop Gilly and Gabrielle made a decision to pool their combined knowledge and form a brand new company; as a result Buddha on a Bicycle was born. We knew through long experience working in Seven Dials that, not only was there was a call for a new and bigger venue that would incorporate a retail shop but a space big enough for people to comfortably stop for a chat or exchange ideas and information. This new company needed to continue to offer all of the crystals and other ethical gifts, singing bowls, crystal jewellery, books, music, guided meditation, Buddhas, that had always proved so popular with so many of our customers, but also needed to provide a suitable sized therapy space for the healers, yoga teachers and practitioners who had flocked to us previously to exchange thoughts ideas and wisdom with other like minded people.

We found the perfect location at 27 Endell Street which also has a downstairs area for individual therapy work and small group activities such as yoga, meditation and workshops.

As a result, in the three years we have been here in Endell Street, we have hosted a wide range of exciting events and activities, from  naked yoga classes, to poetry readings, book launches, psychic stand up comedy, to a three night salon with the world renowned singer and musician Jane Siberry who’s previous London venue was the Festival Hall at the South bank!

We have built up a strong relationship with the many practitioners who now use Buddha on a Bicycle as their regular West End location, all of whom came to us originally through personal recommendation and who’s own regular clientèle now shop with us for many of their mind body and spirit products as well as visiting for our healing activities and therapies.
