The British Library are delighted to present their latest major exhibition: Buddhism.
The exhibition, running until the 23rd February 2020, is a fantastic display of texts and artefacts relating to Buddhism across the world. Discover the story of the life of Buddha, the core teachings of Buddhist worship, and the ideas and beliefs that have contributed to making Buddhism one of the largest religions in the world. With cultures from across the globe represented, and a focus on the mindful teachings of this beautiful religion, there truly is something for everybody to enjoy.
Come and delight in the rare treasures from the Library’s collection, including colourful scrolls, precious artefacts and stunning illuminated books spanning 2,000 years and 20 countries. Admire the contemporary art from Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan, and learn about the ritual objects used in contemplative practice which provide a window into everyday life in Buddhist communities in the 21st century.
